After seeing this, we had to give it a try!
 All the fixings.

Birthday Goodbye.

Our friend Reese is turning 1! But the biggest change in her young life is the move her family is making to Park City, Utah. We met Todd and Kristi a little less that a year ago, a young hip family who lives in our small, rural, agricultural mostly retirement-age town. There have been oodles of play dates and get-togethers, guys-nights out and friendships built. It is so very hard to say goodbye to them. (Luckily we LOVE Park City and now I have 2 reasons to visit!)
L-R; Todd, Kristi, Hudson, Harley (pup) and Reese.
Dear Todd, Kristi, Hudson and Reesie- we already miss you!

Baby Dresser.

The greatest challenge of this pregnancy has been finding a dresser for the nursery. I love the process of restoring furniture from its beginning (the treasure hunt), throughout the transformation (sanding, cleaning, painting and lining drawers), to putting it to it's use (in this case filling with baby boy clothes).
I purchased this antique dresser at a barn sale for $60.
After stopping by Dad's ranch to pick up the tools,
I stripped it (including the laminate top) and sanded it entirely.
Fighting every urge to paint it white, I first painted it a color called Tangerine Dream. In actuality it was an orange nightmare and so I went with this Kelly Green color. I bought these knobs
Ta DA...
Soon it will be topped by a diaper changing pad, ready for Baby B.

A Ladies Tea.

Eva put together a tea and invited Leilani, Kalia, The Little Girls and I. It was beautiful and these photos don't do her presentation justice (I didn't take enough photos, I was just too darn relaxed!) It is so lovely catching up with old friends, we were three happy mamas. Thank you Eva for making a plan and giving us the perfect excuse to get together.

Maybe... WILL come all together before Baby B arrives. Except for baseboards, our Master Bedroom is finished. I pieced together the bedding from different stores and cleaned/kept the window coverings from before the smoke damage. I love the challenge of redecorating on a tight budget. I believe it forces me to be more creative than I would otherwise be.

Oh, and look who we met up with on Saturday! Shannon and baby Kale. He is so lovable and sweet, and his mama is sure proud. Their happiness and joy in one another is obvious.

The County Fair.

The Little Girls have been counting down the days until the opening of The County Fair for weeks and weeks. Yesterday was Kid's Day and so we met up with our favorite big kid Michelle, who happens to be in town visiting. Savannah and Ivy finally got their "life-long wish" and rode the Ferris Wheel (admittedly, I was a nervous wreck...blame the hormones. There is no possible way that contraption is safe).
Ivy rode her first roller coaster, The Caterpillar.
She was silent the length of the ride, Savannah squealed and screamed the whole way.
They are already counting down the days until next year.

Cause and Effect.

This (the state of being pregnant) leads too...
...this. Nesting.
One makeup drawer down...many more drawers to tidy. I've been collecting milk-glass for a while now, picking it up at Antique Fairs, antique stores, garage sales and thrift stores. Savannah now keeps an eye out for it, helping me out. Both Little Girls know exactly what it is and what I'm looking for when I say we are headed out on a treasure hunt.

Just look what Grandpa Dan built at the Ranch!
No question of who has who wrapped around their chubby little fingers. This Ranch is already a kid, adult and animal haven with it's acres of orchards and gardens in such a peaceful setting, now it is playground heaven!

Summer Family Films.

Do you have a Regal Theater in your town? If so, you are super lucky. Go here to see if your theater is participating in Summer Movie Express, where every Tuesday and Wednesday at 10 am G and PG movies are shown for $1. That's right, $1. And then some theaters offer Value Days, ours offers any movie on Tuesdays playing at any time for $5. That's right, $5. Go here to see if your theater is this generous.
Yesterday The Little Girls and I enjoyed a $1 film. They like to dress up and bring their dollies and prams (strollers). It is a lot to carry into the theater but they feel so fancy and grown up with such responsibility as taking a baby doll to the movies. Except yesterday Savannah's baby kept crying. She can't come anymore.

In the form of what (I am certain) looks like a slow, crippled animal-I am still running. Not my non-pregnant 3 miles a day but more like 1-2 of those miles mixed in with resting/walking. I am four weeks away from my due date, 36 weeks pregnant and possibly daft. But my doctor encourages my running, my legs aren't as restless and crampy at night and my mental health is sunny.

I've spent the last two afternoons sorting and washing baby boy clothes. We have been very blessed to have such crazy generous friends give us what they no longer need, these will undoubtedly clothe Baby B for the first two years of his life...
...which is good because up until these sweet friends offered, these three items I purchased wouldn't have made it past the first blow-out.
A special THANK YOU! to Kristi, Leilani and Jenny. Your boys have always been adorably dressed, I feel so lucky!

Oh and I finally spent some quality time with Kalia. She is such a D-O-L-L!
 Crazy Cute.
