Holding Hudson...

is like snuggling a piece of heaven.

Hudson's grandma, Sharon the Great, is well... amazing. She is so generous with her time and love, the little girls adore her. I've known her since I was little, she and my Mom were on Home and School Association together and were great friends, she has the best taste as far as decorating and design go, she is an accomplished painter and my brother's mother-in-law. She never hesitates to mention my Mom or tell me a special memory of her. She never takes herself too seriously and is up for anything. This family holds a special place for her in our hearts. Ivy was just taken with her today. She was Sharon's dolly to which Ivy happily complied.

Post Note: Lissa-it was great catching up with you, thanks for letting me cuddle Hudson for such a long time.

Thankfullness.

Happy Thanksgiving Readers. I do hope your day was spent with the people you are thankful for. I was tickled to have my family at our house for the day. Spending time with these people I cherish makes all the work of cooking and cleaning worth it. I'm excited to be creating memories and traditions for my little girls just like the ones my parents created for me, those treasures that I hold close from my own childhood.

In The Closet.

I really hate this 1976 closet space. I'm sure this is the reason why I ignore the disaster it becomes as long as I do.

There, that's better. And now that it is clean (though still a 1976 closet), Ivy has found artistic inspiration within it's tidiness and used her belly as a canvas... again.

Can't you just imagine her making these markings?

Post Note:
Feeshy and Rebekah-now that my closet is clean, I'm ready for the next clothing swap!

Oz.

Last week the little girls and I were transported to Oz at Hannah and Taitan school's production of The Wizard of Oz. Hannah was a gorgeous Glenda and Taitan played the lovable heart-less Tin man. The girls were riveted by the costumes and disturbed by the wicked witch. At one point Ivy couldn't take it anymore, stood up in the crowd, pointed her chubby finger and told off that witch with her 2 year-old vocabulary. The play was great and it was so fun to see how Hannah and Taitan have grown into such talented individuals.

Once Upon A Time...

two sisters were pregnant at the same time.

Their baby boys were born 10 days apart. You've already met Jackson, now meet...

Hudson Ty Bishop.

He is in deep contemplative sleep mode right here. He is just the sweetest, snuggliest lovebug there ever was. He is well, perfect.

Nutcracker Tickets.

I mentioned a few blogs back that Savannah's ballet school is putting on a production of The Nutcracker.
This is the school's annual "recital" if you will. The dancers range from the very beginners (Savannah's class) up to company dancers--it is a very classy performance. If you are wanting to see an amazing show this holiday season, see this production. The performances are Friday December 11 @ 7pm, Saturday December 12 @ 2pm and Sunday December 13 @ 2pm all at the Jill Solberg Theatre, Folsom High School. Children under 3 are free, ages 3-12 and seniors 62 and older are $15.oo and adult tickets are $20.oo. You can get the tickets from me or if you prefer to buy tickets online (credit cards only), you can do so here.

Baby Jack.

Jackson Davis Sattler was born on November 14th to my brother Jared and sister-in-law Jenny. He is the sweetest boy I've ever met, of course I'm biased. I am so excited to see Jared and Jenny as parents and to be a part of this new life. I'm thrilled for the little girls to have a baby boy cousin to play with and take care of and as you can see Savannah has already taken on her older cousin role lovingly.

Peace.

A tender moment.

Already cool.

Belly Love.

It is a little known fact around our house that if you leave Ivy alone with paints long enough, she gets very creative with her choice of appropriate canvas'. Her thought process goes a little something like this..."This paint looks good on my hands but I'll move to my face and use it at makeup too. Okay, now that I've accomplished this, I'll move to my toes. Oh, very nice! Hmmm...largest surface area? Oh YES!"

S's.

Ivy and I were sick on Saturday but still we all went shopping and out for sushi. Tim bought sweaters and shirts and looked for a new pair of shoes. I sneezed and sniffled my way through the night knowing I should be sleeping at home.

My sweet nephew was born. More details on that soon!

To Theme or Not to Theme...

It seems like Christmas holiday decor comes out earlier and earlier every year. I realized the season had started in the retail world when I was out shopping for Halloween candy. I received several emails from shops advertising their holiday decor (ONLINE AND IN STORES NOW!) November 1st. I felt pressure to think about my tree and how to decorate it. I've always admired themed Christmas trees. I love my Grandma's trees. She did a bird themed tree a few years back that I was very envious of. My Mom loved a themed tree too. She color coordinated all the wrapping paper so all the gifts underneath looked too beautiful to open. I never can quite get myself together to theme a tree. However, if I were to do a themed tree this year I think I would do a nautical theme using ornaments from Anthropologie. This would cost a small fortune and so I hope to buy a few December 26th and perhaps do it next year instead.

this sweet octopus

I put a tree in the little girls' room every year. It is a pink tree and thus very girlie. I'm going to sweeten it up even more this year with

these cupcakes.

What about you? Does your holiday tree, wreath, hearth, front yard or wrapping have a theme?

Cousins.

Today brought Shannon, Sydney and Dawson over for a fun play-date. We ate pizza, cookies and drank what Savannah calls "fuzzy juice". The girls adore their two older cousins and there is no greater enjoyment than watching the older two dote on the little girls.
