Capital, Just Capital.

We recently celebrated with Tim's parents, their 40th wedding anniversary.
We had family portraits taken at the Capital Building on a crisp Sunday morning.
The Graf's
Gordon, Margaret and their Grandgirls.
If you haven't recently spent time downtown Sacramento and crave a serenely peaceful weekend morning, California's state Capital is yours for the taking.

Will Turns Two.

Our buddy William turned two and had a super-fun swim party.
The Birthday Boy and his precious Mommy Jeni.
Tim and Ivy, taking in the view of the party and Savannah's big swim.
 Bubby-boo was there too.
 Monkey-child.
A sunset ride with the celebrated Will and his Daddy Robbie.
Thanks Keszler's for a beautiful party on a Saturday afternoon.

Already?

I can't believe the shops are decorated for Halloween in August. Can it be that time already? It doesn't matter much around here anyway. The Little Girls were talking about and decided what they wanted to be for Halloween back in January. As for finding out those details, you will have to wait until at least the first day of Autumn.
Sweet Rebekah, as tall as the decor. This hat is actually attached to the signage.
Oh Gap. The Little Girls adore your Skeleton Pajamas. Glow in the dark? You sure know the way to a kid's heart. (thanks Margaret!)

The Sweetest Thing.

Ivy Jane is now a "Pink Girl". Nothing can bring a smile to your whole face quicker than watching a three-year-old in Ballet School. I wasn't sure she would, but she loves it. Every morning she asks, "Is today my Dallet class? I love Dallet Mommy, cuz I'm three now."

This Girl...

...is not afraid to get her hands dirty. She picks up teaching again like an old floppy, worn-in hat.

But the whole time she is teaching other peoples' kids, she is thinking of doing this...

...with these little ones, and Ivy who is playing in the tree house.

Everything But the Kitchen Sink.

So much is happening around the Honey Hut. The Garden is starting it's Harvest, new flooring is being put in, I've been cleaning and redecorating a bit and also focusing extra creativity for a very special wedding in October, Ivy is now also in Ballet School, both Little Girls are seeming restless and tomorrow is my first day as "Mrs. Botting, Elementary Art Teacher". But today, time is standing still and I couldn't be happier. Today we are living, breathing, smiling and loving Jack-time. This baby is glows cuteness every second, all day.

Have you seen the show Plain Jane? This show was ridiculously adorable. Louise Roe is lovely.
And if you haven't tried on these, do yourself a favor and get down to your local Gap or shop online here. Then do yourself another solid and purchase said HEAVENLY shoes. Not convinced? Maybe this discount will help.

The Return.

We are back.

This is how we spent Ivy's birthday.
Yes, she got her Lemon Cake.
It was her choice between the beach or the Zoo,
she chose the Zoo.
She was her Daddy's girl all day (though people wouldn't know it by name since she often calls him 'Tim').

'3' is going to be a great year.

A-hem...

Attention:
The Honey Hut will be back soon. Thank you for checking in, you are very loyal and your hair looks lovely today.
Love,
Dusty

Celebrate!

First of all, I'd like to publicly thank Tony (though I'm not sure he is a "Honey Hutter") and Deeds for coming over last night and fixing my computer. I am a happy girl today and this is because of your swell skills in schooling my computer, Tony! Thank you.

(Now if I could only get my dsl connection to work properly, you'd get to see some photos!)
Stay tuned.

What's Up?.

Dear Loyal Readers,
Currently my computer is teaching me a lesson in patience. I'm reaching a boiling point trying to put up daily blogs, only to loose my internet connection or experiencing a system failure. That being said, here is what yesterday's post would have looked like had I actually aced my computer's torture, um... tutorial.

Time Passed- 48 minutes.

Nevermind.
You'll just have to check back later.

All About Ivy.

My Little Redhead is celebrating her third birthday today.
Indulge this Mama a walk down memory lane with a few treasured Ivy moments.

Dear Ivy.
Life with you is so much sweeter, brilliantly more colorful.
You are breaking my heart a little today as you turn three,
you are getting further and further from being a baby.
Happy Birthday.
I love you, my precious girl.
Mommy.

Our Last Day Of "2".

This adorably scrap-booked photo of Ivy was crafted by my dear friend Jen. She made it a year ago when Ivy turned 2. This last year has been such a joy with Ivy. I am sad to see it go. She turns 3 tomorrow and so I am going to live up this last day of "2" as much as possible.
Oh, and when asked what she wants for her birthday
Ivy said, "a lemon cake, maybe a card and a foot."

Dear Fairy Godmother.

It's back to school time which makes my heart long for a few new dresses. I did all the work for you, Fairy Godmother. Your magic wand need not look any further than here.
Oh, and don't forget this sweater for when the summer ends and autumn begins.
Forever wishing and hoping,
Dusty.
